Being one among the child victims, Kalki has always helped others to raise voice against the odds in the society. This time she is back with a blunt video which bashed government for imposing GST on sanitary pads.
The Shaitan actress has raised a question of levying 12 per cent GST on sanitary pads. In a video, Kalki also speaks that putting taxes on menstruation can help a woman neither the economy of the country. “I don’t know about acche din but humari life mein har mahine paanch not-so-acche-din toh hote hi hain (I don’t know about good days, but in our lives, we have at least five mandatory not-so-good days),” She said in the video.
The hard-hitting poem also speaks about how a woman refrains talking about periods in public. She further went on explaining how menstruation is natural for a woman just like any other nature’s creation. In all, the Kalki opens up about how menstruation is still a taboo in the country.
