The Triple talaq rule has sworn the internet because every woman is fighting against this strange rule. Not only Triple talaq, but many other Islamic rules has attracted controversy worldwide. One bizarre story which is circulating around the social media is that of a Muslim Nigerian man who is married to 120 wives and has 203 kids.
According to the reports published in Deccan Chronicle, Mohammed Bello Abubakar, an Islamic clinic from Nigeria is married to 120 wives and has 203 kids. According to the wives of this man, they met Mohammad when they consulted him for curing themselves of their illness. The man treated all of them and then married them later.
A fatwa was issued against this man because according to the Islamic law, a man can have maximum four wives in a polygamy case. One of the wives who married him revealed: “I said I couldn’t marry an older man but then he said this is the direct order from God and hence ended marrying him”.
Mohammed Bello Abubakar, has divorced 10 of his wives from 120. He still considered his remaining wives. When asked how many time he would get married, he said he would continue to get married as long as he is alive.
The Nigerian man gained international attention in 2008, when he had 86 wives, and gave interviews to journalists claiming that he had done it because ‘God asked me him do it.’ An arrest warrant was released against the man after Emir of Bida said that he was creating tension in the society by giving such statements. He was released later but refused to stop this belief of getting married.
Finally, Mohammed Bello Abubakar rested in peace after he died at the age of 93 leaving behind his 203 kids and 120 wives.
