Raksha Bandhan is one among the widely celebrated festivals in India. The festival is celebrated with great joy and pomp where brothers and sisters rejoice the feeling of being together. Not many of us have our own sibling but still, we manage to celebrate this festival with our near and dear ones.
Just like all of us, Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with two of his close sisters. One elderly woman who lost her brother 50 years ago missed him profoundly on this day. The lady could not tie Raakhi to his brother but celebrated the festival of brother-sister with Narendra Modi. The lady tied a Raakhi to none other than Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
A few months ago, the lady’s son had written a letter to PM Narendra Modi informing about his mother’s wish. Sharbati Devi tied Raakhi to Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi’s Lok Kalyan Marg. Narendra Modi invited the lady to his home and celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with her.
Apart from Sharbati Devi, there is one more woman who celebrated her Raksha Bandhan with our beloved Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Qamar Mohsin Shaikh, a Pakistani origin woman has been celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan with Narendra Modi for more than two decades. This woman had settled in Ahmedabad after marriage and used to miss her family since then.
Qamar Mohsin Shaikh met PM Narendra Modi through her husband, who was a painter. It was then when Qamar Mohsin Shaikh approached Narendra Modi for Raakhi and the humble Minister readily put his hand forward. The lady has been tying Raakhi to the Prime Minister since 23 years and the tradition is still on.
Shaikh thought Narendra Modi would not be able to attend the function, due to his extremely busy schedule. “This time I thought he (PM) must be busy but 2 days back he called up, I was very happy to know that; started preparing,”Q amar Mohsin Shaikh told ANI. However, two days before PM invited his sister at his place.
Well, this sweet gesture of Narendra Modi is surely heart warming and is winning the internet. Not only this, Narendra Modi also met school children to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan yesterday.
