Flipkart’s Chief Architect, Utkarsh B, told NDTV, “In our own small way we are creating an open innovation platform. People can come in, collaborate, discuss, brainstorm. And seed certain ideas that can help solve part of the problem. It could be small localized junctions like Silk Board junction, KR Puram junction – what can be done for that. Or it could be a micro problem Flipkart is invested towards.”
Participants are given two weeks to work on the concept and then the best plan will be shortlisted based on the idea and if they will be adequate in reality. The top ten people will present their idea in front of the jury. However, the jury will make sure that the ideas are not just theoretical but they can also be applied practically. Flipkart employees face a lot of problem in Bengaluru because most the offices are situated on the busy roads.

We were a technology powerhouse, can we create this platform, nudge people and motivate them? It is the power of collective will. We will be setting up a portal where people can come and register their teams,” he added.
