This is not the first time when the story of “Samsung phone exploding or catching fire” around the internet is going viral. What’s more shocking is when your phone explodes or catches fire on the flight. Every one of us is aware that carrying Samsung note 7 is banned on the flight and hence it has always created a terror image in the minds of the user. Recently, a user took on Twitter to share the scary incident when the Samsung phone caught fire on Jet Airways flight from Delhi to Indore.
A passenger, Arpita said that her mobile phone, Samsung J7 phone caught fire mid-air in a Delhi- Indore Jet Airways flight and risked lives of around 120 people. She said that she had three mobile phones in her handbag and suddenly she noticed smoke coming out of her bag. She soon realized that the Samsung phone she was carrying had caught fire. She immediately asked for help from the crew for extinguishing the fire.
The worst thing about the incident is, fire extinguisher failed to work which further left the other passengers and the owner in danger. Later water was used to extinguish the phone and the flight was landed safely.
Here is what Arpita’s husband said about the incident, “It was a mid-air panic. We prayed to god. I will complain against Jet Airways after I return home. This is a question of safety of passengers in flights. If there is a major fire or blast what will they do when their fire extinguishers don’t work like this.”
Here is what spokesperson of Jet Airways said, “It was observed on board Jet Airways’ flight 9W 791 Delhi-Indore that smoke was emitting from a guest handbag. Jet Airways crew immediately took charge of the situation, as also all necessary steps as a precautionary measure, and as per the prescribed guidelines.”
Currently, the Samsung device is been inspected and Samsung is yet to reply on this matter. We hope Samsung fix the bug and the problem of phone blasting comes to an end.
