A 23-year-old student allegedly jumped from his suite on the 19th floor of luxury hotel Taj Lands End, Bandra West. The boy died after going Live on facebook on a tutorial named, “committing suicide”
Arjun Bhardwaj was the third year BCom student of Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. The boy originally failed from Bengaluru and lived in a flat in Andheri.
According to the reports, it is said that the boy checked into the Taj Lands End, Bandra West hotel around 3 pm yesterday and then spend over three hours. Later, he started hurting himself by shattering the glass of the window. The boy jumped off the building at 6 pm.
Before jumping off the building, the boy recorded live video on five steps to kill oneself. According to the live video, he spoke that this video is a live tutorial on how to commit suicide. According to the five steps, he first wrote notes to people, got drunk, eats something, checks in the hotel and then jumps off the building to die. Arjun Bhardwaj ended the tutorial with the smile and seconds later, he died.
The youth was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but was declared dead. A source said the police believe that the act was premeditated “since he walked into the hotel, broadcast a video on Facebook and posted a photograph with the caption ‘View to die for’.”
Police have registered this case as accidental death report and Arjun’s parents have been informed about the incident. Mumbai Police once again urged the youngsters to reach out to them if they are distressed or under pressure.
